#Gamefaqs bloody roar 5 series
I'm glad the designers thought outside of the box with the series and didn't only include mammals in the game. Still, Long is probably one of the best designs from the Bloody Roar series.ħth place (tie): Stun A human-sized walking beetle? I guess he's pretty original. it kinda ruins the design for me honestly. The fact that he can turn into a walking tiger (and does kung fu), well. He's a decent design visually and has some authentic kung fu moves. I think it's mainly his face.ħth place (tie): Long I suppose every fighting game needs a proper "Kung Fu" fighter. His outfit designs are on the obnoxious side, and something about him just pisses me off. Even though most of the characters in Bloody Roar are freaks anyway. Other than that, he's a forgettable character and doesn't have much personality.Ĩth place: Busuzima I suppose he's decent as the "freak" for the series. From what I remember, he had a few interesting moves. Other than that, his "animal form" doesn't make sense and looks kinda stupid, honestly. but it's better than nothing.ĩth place: Kohryu First off, Kohryu is obviously inspired by Yoshimitsu. but at the same time, she might be one of the least awkward characters of the Bloody Roar series. To me, she looks like a typical "futuristic anime girl" from any given futuristic anime. lol.ġ0th place: Uranus Her name is URANUS?. so yeah, put a giant dragon on the screen and slow everything down times 3. he actually slows down the entire game, which is hilarious to me. While his attacks as a dragon are fairly cool. although it doesn't seem to "match" his human appearance in any way (the way most BR designs are). Baldy has some fairly cool projectile moves in BR4 and definitely seems a bit overpowered (but I didn't play that game enough to actually confirm that - and you couldn't pay me to, for the record). but compared to other designs from BR4, I guess he's not too bad. She's a somewhat effective design in her series, but otherwise, not a very inspiring design.ġ1th place: Ryoho & Mana Ryoho's appearance was boring to me when I first saw him. I actually like her Bloody Roar 2 & 3 costumes, but her other ones are pretty stale. Seriously? 0_o I suppose this design might appeal to some "girly gamers" out there, but I think most fighting game players will agree that this design can be summed up as laughable, awkward and slightly disturbing.Ī few of Alice's default outfits aren't terrible. Bye bye.ġ2th place: Alice The staple "cute Asian girl" of her series, Alice can also turn into giant fighting bunny. Also, just look at his "puppy dog" eyes in those character renders. I can't say I'm a fan of this guys outfit or fighting style either. "Hey guys, I can turn myself into a penguin. I like penguins and all, but what a crappy power to have. but then, you find out that he turns into a stubby little penguin. Pffft.įood for thought: If this design was any good, they wouldn't have had to change his design so drastically from the first game.ġ3th place: Cronos At best, Cronos almost seems likeable at first glace. I mean damn, you're lookin' at a Strider Hiryu wannabe if there ever was one. Then in Bloody Roar 2 and after, they totally changed up his design and eventually made him closely resemble Strider Hiryu. I guess (I bet it took the designers a long time to conceptualize that one), but everything else about him just seems "forced" in every way.ġ4th place: Bakuryu (I & II) In the first game he was an oddball character, but somewhat cool and original. Okay, so his "crow beast form" doesn't look too terrible. those silly orange pants, generic tattoos, or goofy silver hair (because giving a character silver hair automatically makes them cool right?. I think he would look better without the wannabe-Zangief beard though.ġ5th place: Reiji I know a 5-minute filler design when I see one. His gorilla form is kind charismatic, actually. Although he's a bit awkward, compared to many of the later Bloody Roar character designs, he was actually a mildly entertaining character and had potential. and at the same time, I can understand why they decided not to bring back him back after the first game. that would've been a little more clever (but not enough to save this design from its extreme awkwardness).ġ6th place: Greg I can almost see where they were trying to go with this design. I can understand why she only appeared in Bloody Roar 1.Īlso worth mentioning, I don't think her Japanese name suits her very well. but damn is this design ugly in more ways than one.

Well, I give the designers a little bit of credit for originality.

NO SURPRISE why Fox didn't return in any of the Bloody Roar sequels.ġ7th place: Mitsuko An ugly women, in a horrid outfit, who can turn into a pig? Yikes. but I think most people would find this design awkward and slightly disturbing. Someone on the original Bloody Roar dev-team must be into "furries".
